In 2005 I travelled to the arctic to spend a few months in Iqaluit, Nunavut. While there I had the pleasure to make friends with Throat singers Jeanie Mathewsie and Kathy Curly. It all started within the first week, when I found a hand bill for a show that the girls where going to be preforming at. The venue was a resteraunt called the Kamoutiq Inn.

Iqaluit, being a very small community, I managed to call the directly and get permission to record the show that night. afterwords we spent a few different occasions recording together and getting some fantastic stuff.

Sadly, the next year after I had returned back to Toronto I recieved a message from Kathy that Jeanie had taken her own life. I was crushed. Kathy was destroyed but has since made trips all over the North and to Edmonton Alberta and is enjoying life and has told me that she has found a new partner to Throat Sing with.

I have now finished this project and the families and I are working on getting this music put to use for a good cause.

OVERDOSE, Newmarket, Ontario.

Recorded with RTG when the studio was in it's infancy in early 2005 when the studio didn't have a home. there was no studio at this point. and only an 1/8th of the gear that we have now least of all the studio space itself. All in all for what it's worth it turned out pretty well
